Download Facebook Photo Albums as ZIP — Every Image at Once
Facebook is one of the largest photo archives on the internet — events, vacations, family albums, brand photoshoots, news galleries. The Facebook app and website let you view photos but provide no bulk-export option (Settings → Download Your Information is account-wide and slow, not per-album). To save every photo from a specific album, you'd have to right-click → Save Image on each one — tedious for albums with 50+ photos. DropZap parses Facebook's album manifest and returns the entire album as a ZIP file in one step. This guide covers the workflow for personal albums, Page albums, and event albums, plus what to do when an album spans multiple URLs.
Step-by-step instructions
- Open the Facebook album. Navigate to the album page on Facebook. Albums look like a grid of photos with a title bar at the top showing photo count. Copy the URL — format is facebook.com/.../media_set or facebook.com/PageName/photos.
- Paste into DropZap. Open dropzap.digital/facebook-video-downloader and paste the album URL. DropZap detects the album structure from Facebook's response.
- Wait for ZIP generation. DropZap fetches every photo in the album server-side and bundles them into a ZIP. Larger albums take longer — a 50-photo album typically generates in 10-20 seconds.
- Download and extract. Save the ZIP to your device. Extract on iPhone via Files → tap ZIP, on Android via Files by Google, or by double-clicking on PC/Mac. The extracted folder contains every photo numbered in order.
About Facebook downloads
Facebook serves videos in HD (typically 720p or 1080p) and Reels at vertical 9:16 resolution. Photo albums download as ZIP files containing every image at Facebook's stored resolution (commonly 1080-1440px on the longer edge).
Frequently asked questions
What's the maximum album size DropZap can handle?
Albums up to ~500 photos work reliably. Beyond that, ZIP generation can time out due to memory limits. For very large albums, download in chunks by filtering the album view to specific date ranges.
Can I download photos from a private Facebook group's album?
No. Private-group content requires authenticated Facebook session access, which DropZap doesn't have. Only publicly visible albums (on personal profiles set to Public, on Pages, or on public events) work.
What resolution are the downloaded photos?
Facebook stores photos at the resolution the user uploaded — typically 1080-1440px on the longer edge for modern uploads, lower for older photos uploaded over slower connections. DropZap returns Facebook's stored version unchanged.
Is it legal to download Facebook content?
Saving public Facebook content (Pages, public posts) for personal use is generally permitted. Private-group content, friends-only posts, or commercial reuse without permission is not. DropZap cannot access private content under any circumstances.
